Winding up from a very successful year, the Narrabri Clay Target Club held its December competition on Sunday, December 15.

Everyone looks forward to the club’s end of year Christmas shoot and this year was no exception, with shooters travelling from far afield.

There were 36 shooters in attendance on the day from Narrabri, Gunnedah, Rowena, Moree, Coonamble, Tamworth, and Springsure, Queensland.

With lots of hams, meat trays and chickens to be won, shooters participated in novelty events that really tested their skills.

Competitors had to step up to the challenge of hot and breezy conditions and the ribbing from spectators if their performance was seen to be lacking.

Results of the shoot held on Sunday are as follows:

Event One – 25-target single barrel off 11m continental:

AA-grade: First – Brett Farlow with 27/27, second – Mark Meers with 25/27, third – Theresa Montgomery with 22/25.

A-grade: First – Mark Baker with 36/36, second Blake Schwartz with 35/36, third William Abbott with 24/25.

B-grade: First – Hugh Faris with 24/25, second – Janet Barden with 23/25, third Mick McCahon 22/25.

C-grade: First – Alex Dean with 21/25, second – Georgia Barden with 19/25, third – David Lemmon with 18/25.

Event Two – 26-target walk forward 25m to 13m:

AA-grade: First – Mark Meers with 26/26, second – Scott Moody with 26/27, third – Brett Farlow with 23/26.

A-grade: First – Grant Lowien with 26/26, second – Mark Baker with 45/46 (shoot off), third – Mark Barden with 44/46 (shoot off).

B-grade: First – Mick McCahon with 23/26, second – Josh Knapman with 22/27, third – Janet Barden with 22/28.

C-grade: First – Alex Dean with 21/26, second – David Lemmon with 20/26, third – Georgia Barden with 17/26

Event three – 25-target crazy points:

AA-grade: First – Mark Meers with 92/125, second – Graham Baylis with 87/125, third – Ian Schwartz with 83/125.

A-grade: First – Doug Smith with 104/150, second – Mark Baker with 103/150, third – B Schwartz with 99/150

B-grade: First – Lindsay Taylor with 73/125, second – Josh Knapman with 67/125, third – Greg Smith with 60/125.

C-grade: First Alex Dean with 76/125, second Mitch Baker with 53/125, third David Lemmon with 45/125.

Event four – 25-target handicap plus two mts:

AA-grade: First – Scott Moody with 32/35, second – Mark Meers with 31/35, third – John Harris with 22/26

A-grade: First – Mark Baker with 24/25, second – Barry Thomson with 23/25, third – William Abbott with 22/25.

B-grade: First – Mick McCahon with 24/25, second – Janet Barden with 23/25, third – Greg Smith with 20/25
