Since April 2015 Lochie Condon, the son of Jamie and Annette Condon, has been the popular and reliable paper delivery boy for The Courier on the Gibbons Street run which includes the area west of the highway between the Narrabri Creek and Namoi River bridges out to Brailoc Estate.

In the time that Lochie has been doing the run he has endeared himself to readers who looked forward to hearing his whistle every Tuesday and Thursday afternoon.

When Lochie started the paper run he was in Year 8 and last year completed his Higher School Certificate and retired from his paperboy duties just before Christmas.

Lochie has taken on an apprenticeship. Before he left he commented on what being a paperboy meant to him. He said he learned a lot over the years about customer service, managing money and the importance of talking to people and getting to know his customers.

Patrick Lindsay, the son of Brett and Tess Lindsay, has taken on the paperboy duties on the Gibbons Street run. Patrick is keen to follow in the footsteps of Lochie as a successful paperboy.

“The Courier team really values the role the 16 paper boys and girls play in the community. For many residents they are the face of the paper and we are proud of the job they do,” The Courier manager Wanda Dunnet said.

“Seeing Lochie start in Year 8 as a young boy and grow through adolescence intro a fine young man is very rewarding and one of the real highlights of what we do. The Courier welcomes Patrick and wishes Lochie the best for the future.”
