Whiddon aged care home in Narrabri is currently offering free respite care to the local community.
“Respite care is a short-term solution to provide you with extra support, whatever your situation may be,” a spokesperson said.
“Respite care is also a great option for you if you’ve recently been in hospital, or are recovering from illness.
“You may appreciate some extra assistance to help get you back on your feet.
“For carers and family members, it can bring peace of mind, knowing that their loved one is being looked after.
“Whether you’re with Whiddon for a short-term or a longer period we’re passionate about enriching lives and keeping older people connected to what matters to them in life.
“We aim to really understand you through building a deep relationship with you, your family and your community.
“If your Aged Care Assessment Team or MyAgedCare finds you eligible for respite care services, you can receive up to 63 days of respite in a residential care home each year.

“Residents interested in the offer don’t pay a thing at our selected homes – they’re exempt from the daily care fee
“Free respite care is only available at our Whiddon Narrabri Jessie Hunt home for a maximum two week stay, with a minimum usage period of one week. If the customer requires an extension of their respite stay before returning home or transitioning to permanent care, or would like to book a longer stay up front, they are required to commence paying the Daily Care Fee after 14 days.
“Free respite will only be available for residents with a High Care Residential Respite approval.”
The offer is valid for January 2020 to February 29, 2020.
