There were six Narrabri District Cricket Association T20 matches scheduled to be played across Friday and Saturday, but none went ahead after some much-needed rain meant that the NDCA curators were unable to prepare wickets on Collins Park and Hogan Oval.

On Friday night two Coates Hire Namoi Super Slog T20 competition round five games were washed out.

Rose Pest Control and Specialised Civil Services were set to meet at Collins Park, while Priag Marketing and Carla Baxter Real Estate were scheduled to meet at Hogan Oval.

With both of those games washed out all four teams received four points for a draw.

There were four more games scheduled to be played on Saturday, all in the second grade T20 club-based competition.

Two of those were set for Collins Park and the other two were scheduled for Hogan Oval.

Tatts, Civeo and the Western Imperial Razorbacks were all meant to play two games each in the third and final round of the campaign, while RSL and Crossroads were both set to play once each.

The washouts meant that RSL and Crossroads both received four points while the other three teams picked up eight points each.

The final standings saw Tatts top the table on 22 points, three ahead of RSL which placed second.

Both of those teams qualified for the February 1 grand final.

Placing third and fourth respectively were Civeo and the Razorbacks which both finished the season on 16 points, while Crossroads finished last on seven points.

Meanwhile, the NDCA representative second XI’s round four MA Connolly Cup match was washed out and declared a draw on Saturday.

Only one of the four scheduled games in that competition went ahead which saw Narrabri’s Western Conference opponents Gunnedah and Quirindi go head-to-head.

Quirindi batted first in that game played in Gunnedah and made just 59 runs in 21.2 overs.

Gunnedah then lost nine wickets before scoring the winning runs in the 28th over to score a nailbiting victory.

The Narrabri XI was scheduled to travel to Tamworth to take on Peel Valley, but both teams received two points each for a draw.

That meant that Narrabri finished the second last round in first place on 14 points, just one point ahead of Gunnedah and Moree (13 points each).

The fifth and final round of the MA Connolly Cup regular season will be played on Sunday, February 2.

Narrabri will host Gunnedah on that day.

In the Eastern Conference, Gwydir is currently first on 18 points, followed by Tamworth Blue in second on 14 points.

Those two teams play against one another in round five which will determine which team finishes first and which finishes second.

The semi-finals will be played on Sunday, February 9, which will see the top-ranked Eastern team play the second-placed Western team, and the top-ranked

Western team play the second-placed Eastern team.

The winner of those two matches will then contest the February 16 grand final.
