The Narrabri Stingrays Swimming Club hosted its home development carnival for the 2019-20 swimming season on Sunday at the Narrabri Aquatic Centre.

Swimmers from Nararbri, Wee Waa, Gunnedah, Moree, Tamworth City, 360 Scully Park, Kootingal/Moobi, Inverell, Armidale and Coonabarabran took part in on the day.

There were more than 35 Stingrays swimmers in action on the day as well as 23 competitors from the Wee Waa Swimming Club, which also included Narrabri swimmers from Karla’s Swim Team.

The Narrabri Stingrays swimmers impressed at their home carnival as they combined for 30 event wins, 34 second-placed finishes and 30 third-placed finishes.

It was also a successful day for the Wee Waa club, with its team combining for 27 event wins, 21 second-placed finishes and 20 third-placed finishes.

Narrabri Stingrays Swimming Club’s Megan Hartog-Smith said that the club enjoyed a relaxing day and all swimmers enjoyed themselves throughout the event, especially in the relay races.

Several Narrabri Stingrays Swimming Club members now turn their attention to the Swimming NSW Country Championships which will be held from Friday, February 21, to Sunday, February 23, and the Speedo Sprints finals which will be held on Saturday, February 29.
