Australian Rugby League Commission chairman Peter V’landys and NRL chief executive Todd Greenberg announced this evening that the 2020 NRL competition had been suspended amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

“Our pandemic and biosecurity experts said due to the outbreak it is no longer safe for our players to play,” V’landys said.

“We are going to look at all the options.

“We thank the players for all their players and fans for the support.

“This decision hasn’t been taken lightly.”

The Courier reader tipster competition and business house challenge will be put on hold as a result of this decision.
