There are now 1029 cases of COVID-19 in NSW, the state has recorded 211 new cases in the last 24 hours – a record spike.

NSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian and NSW Chief Medical Officer Dr Kerry Chant just held a press conference in Sydney.

Dr Chant reported the first COVID-19 cases in children under 10 years of age – a seven-year-old girl and a two-month-old boy.

The Australian newspaper has reported a Tamworth case, a passenger from the Ruby Princess cruise ship.

One passenger from the ship died on Tuesday and at least 133 others have become infected with the virus

“One NSW man, Greg Butler, 56, who left the ship, travelled for six hours on public transport to Tamworth, and then fell ill days later while in quarantine. He is being treated in an isolation ward in hospital,” reported The Australian.
