The agricultural industries have been deemed essential by the Australian government during this time of pandemic.

The entire supply chain which supports the agricultural industries to deliver food and fibre products is an essential part of this picture, with organisations that support farmers with the supply of goods, technology, local advice and services a vital element of the supply chain.

“Cotton Growers Services has a front line interface with the farming community, supporting its customers during these challenging times by providing customised services,” said CGS chief executive officer Steve Ainsworth.

“This includes working directly with clients and agronomists to develop winter cropping programs, managing current summer crops, all the while managing product supply and logistics with our suppliers to meet the client’s specific needs.

“CGS staff are largely working from their home offices, but our network of branches remains open, operating in accordance with government health directions, as we continue to deliver our essential services for our clients and the farming community.

“With good prospects for the coming winter crop, farmers will need continuity of timely supply of crop inputs and support services to maximise the potential this season offers. It’s our job to support our clients and to help them be successful, especially in times of uncertainty.

“We applaud the commitment of the essential services operating at this time, especially those front line workers in the emergency services, the health care providers and those providing the essential flow of goods,” said Mr Ainsworth.

“We also pause to thank all those who are continuing to support the farming community, keeping the wheels of agriculture rolling, the farms functioning and farmers doing what they do best – growing great food and fibre products for the nation.

“The CGS team is committed to doing our job, one we consider vital, helping our clients to continue to be successful.
