“These will be flying off the shelves,” said Watson’s Kitchen pastry chef Shane Allan as he rolled a rack of 570 newly made hot cross buns into the oven at Watson’s Kitchen in Narrabri.

Easter is hot cross bun time and Watson’s Kitchen is well into production.

There is huge demand for the delicious traditional buns, freshly prepared and baked locally each day. The buns will bake at 180 degrees for 20 minutes and emerge perfectly cooked and ready for the shelves to be snapped up by keen customers.

Narrabri is fortunate to have a local bakery producing not only hot cross buns but the whole range of freshly baked produce.

Watson’s Kitchen, Tibbereena Street entrance, is open, with trays of freshly baked buns on the shelves, from 5am until 2pm on Saturday.
