I had an occasion to visit the old Narrabri Cemetery last week. Although the vehicle access was barred I took a stroll in.

It almost brought tears to my eyes to see the devastation and destruction caused by the recent flooding of Doctor’s creek.

Not only was it avoidable but was foreseen by many, except the authorities that had the power to do so.

What ever happened to the flood mitigation plans?

Did they get shelved for beautification or unwarranted cameras.

It wasn’t forsaken for road improvements that’s for sure.

When is council going to divert manpower from trivial park maintenance to rectifying the destruction of our historical resting place for the town’s founders and returned service men and women?

I for one will be over there ASAP to repatriate my forbears’ grave sites.
