Narrabri Bowling Club is in Voluntary Administration.

The Board of Narrabri Bowling Club Ltd appointed Alan Hayes of Hayes Advisory as Administrator on Friday, April 24, the Administrator said in a statement to The Courier.

“The appointment was authorised by ILGA, the Independent Liquor and Gaming Authority of NSW.

“The Narrabri Bowling Club trades two businesses, Narrabri Sporties (the Bowling Club) and the Club Motor Inn (the motel.)

What’s a Voluntary Administration?

“It’s a process controlled by the law by which a company’s business, property and affairs can be administered in a way that maximises the chances of the company or as much as possible of its business continuing.

“So the goal for the Narrabri Bowling Club is to work towards its survival which will require it satisfying its creditors by repayment or compromise, or a combination of both.

“Sale of its asset(s) could be a way to raise monies to repay creditors, additionally a merger of it with another Club. All possibilities will be considered.

“Narrabri Sporties trading is currently suspended due to Government regulation, while the motel’s trading continues.

“Narrabri Sporties’ trading cannot re-open until the Government restriction is lifted, which, when lifted Narrabri Sporties will need to trade profitably.

“In the interim, the Administrator is looking at whether it’s possible to recommence the pizza business to a take away basis from Narrabri Sporties.

“Creditors are those people, businesses, entities owed money by the Club.

“There is a moratorium, or stop, on creditors taking legal action against companies in Voluntary Administration to recover monies owed.

“This legal moratorium is designed to and does provide time for the rehabilitation plan to be considered and implemented.

“Rehabilitation plan – the Administrator is currently working on a rehabilitation plan and will provide more information as it becomes known.”
