A familiar face among many in the Narrabri Shire, Jenny Campbell, last week finished in the role of library manager.

After 18 years of managing the Narrabri Shire library branches, Mrs Campbell is stepping back to allow for a new generation to step in and take the lead on the provision of library services in the Shire.

“Jenny has been a valued member of council and has been the face of our shire libraries for many years,” director corporate and community services, Mr Lindsay Mason said.

“We are thankful for Jenny’s service and look forward to her returning as the library projects officer to share her expertise.

“Jenny’s experience in the library space is enormous – having been involved in the evolution of the library service provision for 18 years her knowledge is extremely valued.”

“Council has an ‘Ageing Workforce Strategy’ which serves the purpose of effectively transitioning employees into the next phase of their lives whilst imparting valued corporate knowledge onto other members of the team,” Mr Mason said.

“We took the opportunity to ensure services to the Narrabri Shire library network were maintained to the excellent level Jenny has set.

“To do that, it was clear to devise a succession plan that will effectively see that corporate knowledge imparted on to the library co-ordinator.

“Narrabri Shire libraries are in the safe hands of Naomi Radford who has commenced as the library co-ordinator.

“With the mentorship being provided by Jenny, we have no doubt Mrs Radford will keep the library services well maintained going forward.”
