Local golfers were in their element when the Narrabri Golf Course re-opened on Friday afternoon for social golf which continued on into the weekend.

Club Narrabri chief executive Paul Gordon told The Courier that both the club and the golfers were pleased that the course had re-opened.

“Overall I was pretty happy,” Mr Gordon said.

“Things went smoothly and people followed the protocols, that all went pretty well.

“I had quite a few people thanking me and saying that they had a wonderful time.

“Any golf is better than no golf so everyone was pretty happy.

“We had about 30-40 players on Friday and Saturday, then there was a few who turned up [on Sunday], not many, but being Mother’s Day a lot of people were busy with that.”

The course is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays but Mr Gordon said that players could book times to play from Wednesday through to Sunday by calling 0417 253 264.

Players will be allocated tee off times between 8am and 2pm and are asked to be ready 15 minutes prior to their allocated time.
