Narrabri High School’s talented music students and staff have gone global with their thoughts in song on life with COVID-19.

Music teachers, student musicians and vocalists have collectively written and produced a song ‘We Will Rise’ as a vehicle to express their views, experiences and response to the coronavirus. Music teachers Stephen Bailey, Jeremy Bergen, David Kennedy and former student, now teacher’s aide, Jackson Walsh have written the song ‘We Will Rise.’

“It is a song about the situation we have all been in over the last couple of months with the coronavirus isolation – perspectives from the kids working at home and the expectations on them, perspectives from the teachers and parents,” said Stephen.

It was a school project which involved students from elective music classes participating as vocalists or accompanying musicians with the teachers’ material.

“We had a great pool of talent to draw on,” said Stephen

The finished result? You can hear it yourself – see below.
