I was devastated to hear that Target is closing in Narrabri.

We have to travel two hours to go shopping in Narrabri and if there is no Target, that means further travel to shop.

Without Target and nowhere else in Narrabri to purchase the same goods Target stocks, people will travel to Moree or Gunnedah which is some distance away, and while there will do all their other shopping.

This will be disastrous for Narrabri.

Are you aware that trade would have fallen off during the last few years because the whole district – indeed the whole state-has been going through the worst drought in history?

Naturally all businesses have suffered severe downturns, but now the farming sector is hopefully starting to recover and will have money to spend in their local towns.

Business will surely pick up in the months ahead in all those towns that are losing Target.

Have you considered towns such as Longreach and Emerald where you are also closing down?

Do you really understand how far people in those towns will have to travel to shop? I don’t think you do nor do you care. I know Target is out there to make money but doesn’t it care about people and their needs?
