Narrabri club life is returning to almost normal at last.

Narrabri RSL club members and their guests have welcomed the re-opening of their club with all facilities available, but with a limit on the number of people who can be on the premises at the same time, social distancing and caution still in place.

The club is applying rigorous controls on the entry and placement of people in accordance with the still strict COVID-19 health regulations.

However, although still a little limited, it is a return to the community club scene that so many enjoy.

The club will be open from 12 noon seven days a week at this stage.

The Outback Shack restaurant is open for lunch and dinner.

“We have the necessary health regulations in place, but we welcome people to resume socialising in the club atmosphere with all the facilities including gaming,” said chief executive Paul Gordon.

Regular features including the raffles will be progressively re-introduced as appropriate to the circumstances.

There are regulations around the operation of the club which must be observed and guests are guided through the procedures on arrival.

Visitors are greeted at the front door and have their temperature checked.

They then sanitise their hands and are brought up to date with the conditions of entry which include social distancing.

Visitors are invited to sign a register with contact information for the purposes of government tracing and advise if they have travelled overseas in recent times.

Inside, the number of people permitted in the venue is limited to a total of 191. The number of people in any of the club rooms is capped.

The venue is looking even more spacious than usual – seating in the club’s rooms and in the Outback Shack is suitably distanced.

Visitors are asked to confirm that they haven’t travelled abroad.

One patron jokingly responded this week that she ‘hadn’t been overseas in the past 24 hours.’

But the necessary health safety rules are applied seriously and taken in the same spirit by patrons.

Meanwhile, RSL staff are keen to welcome patrons back to the club and look forward to further relaxing of health regulations in the not too distant future.
