Whiddon’s Weeronga aged-care residence has a new care home manager – Marie Avery.

Whiddon’s Northern area regional manager, Ines Reynolds said she was delighted to welcome Marie Therese Avery to Whiddon Wee Waa, Whiddon Walgett and Whiddon Bourke.

“We are thrilled that Marie has joined the team as the care home manager at our three homes in the Far West.

“She brings a wealth of experience, expertise and passion to the role.

“We’re excited to see the positive changes and the impact she’ll make to the residents, teams, families and local communities of our three homes,” said Ms Reynolds.

Mrs Avery said she was proud to be a member of the Whiddon family and looked forward to continuing her career in aged care.

With over 25 years’ experience in aged care, Ms Avery has worked as a registered nurse, care manager, clinical nurse specialist and facility manager.

“I believe that people in rural and remote communities should be cared for in those and by those communities,” said Ms Avery.

“The staff who work at the home are caring and dedicated and part of the community, and it is a pleasure working with them.

“I am very excited about the role as the care home manager for Whiddon at Wee Waa, Walgett and Bourke.”

“I feel privileged to be part of the team and hope to make a positive difference to the lives of the residents and staff at the home.”
