I refer to the letter from Greg Lamont in last Thursday’s Courier, am certain he would be accurate in his numbers, that the council missed its budget the last two years by figures of $1.8 million and $1.9 million and that the 2020-21 wages estimate is 21 per cent more than the 2018-19 actual figure.

The obvious, why are there no questions about the economy of the budget from our elected councillors?

I draw attention to the fact that all the surrounding shires, the GM’s delegated authority for spending, without going to council is a limit of $150,000, but in Narrabri , our councillors granted a limit of $1.5 million.
