Craft Shop’s creatively crocheted cycle a feature

Narrabri Craft Shop is the epicentre of creativity in Narrabri and on Saturday launched its Verandah Saturday Winter Exhibition.

Inside the Craft Shop were plenty of examples of winter woollies created by the talented members of the Craft Shop, plus the Craft Shops famed Devonshire teas.

A feature of the work in wool was the ‘yarn bombing’ exhibition cycle, right, which is the ultimate in a decorated bike, a colourful combination of crocheted and knitted wool with even the tyres clad for warmth. Bike rider Marie Stanford completed the picture with knitted shawl and crocheted poncho.

“We are featuring all local art during the Winter Exhibition,” said gallery co-ordinator Janice Smith.

The talents of members are on display from the footpath, where crocheted works decorate the Craft Shop tree through to the displays inside.

“Everyone is welcome to drop in and admire the work of our talented local artists,” said Janice.
