Wee Waa golfers were back on the course on Sunday following a weekend break, with the game scheduled for Sunday, June 14, washed out.

Wee Waa received 4mm of rain overnight on Saturday but Sunday’s game at the golf club was still able to go ahead.

The first round of the Col Stone Knockout was contested alongside the monthly mug.

A field of 25 golfers participated in the event which was won by Luke Humphries who finished the day with a nett score of 67.

The runner-up was Shannon Bartz who finished with 69 nett.

Pro pin winner was Luke Barton with Ben Russell claiming nearest to pin on the fifth and Bartz claiming nearest to pin on the 15th.

Sixteen golfers from Sunday’s field have now progressed to round two of the Col Stone Knockout which will be played some time in July.

This Sunday an individual stroke flag event will be contested at the club.

The club has also asked golfers to get names in for match play next week.
