Wee Waa Bowling Club hosted a ladies’ social bowls day on Thursday which was attended by 14 lady bowlers.

Wee Waa’s Lisa Pillar invited Narrabri lady bowlers to Wee Waa and 11 accepted the invitation to join Pillar and Kay and Dot Dewson for a day of Pairs matches.

The Narrabri bowlers who travelled to play were Jan Etheridge, Lyn Wedesweiler, Leslie Price, Val Falkiner, Eva Sadler, Di Chessells, Gloria Campey, Kay Carolan, Helen Woodward, Pat Shields and Glennis Godden.

The bowlers enjoyed their day on the green which gave them a chance to practis e match play ahead of the highly-anticipated return of the Namoi Women’s District Bowling Association season on Saturday, July 18, and Sunday, July 19, with Mixed Pairs at Lightning Ridge.

The following weekend Wee Waa Bowling Club will host Pairs and Senior Pairs.

The ladies’ pennants season will return on Saturday, August 8 for round five followed by round six on Sunday, August 9.

Region Three playoff entries close on Monday, September 7. Those playoffs will then be contested in Lightning Ridge from Tuesday, September 15, through to Saturday, September 19.

Meanwhile all club champions must be crowned by Monday, September 21, which is the cut-off date for Champions of Champions nominees.

Narrabri’s Spring Carnival is currently scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, September 26 and 27, and the State Championships are scheduled to be played at South Tamworth from Tuesday, October 6, through to Wednesday, October 14.
