Members of the Narrabri Inner Wheel Club observed the COVID rules and held their 62nd annual changeover in the refurbished dining area of the Tourist Hotel on Tuesday, July 7 with members and their husbands enjoying
a two-course dinner.

Outgoing president Jenni Hayne, in presenting her report for the past year, paid tribute to long serving retiring office bearers Marie Keys and Ros Hall who have both served several years as office bearers and thanked them for this. In addition Jenni thanked her outgoing committee and presented each with a small gift.

In inducting Kath Hamilton as president for the year ahead Jenni transferred the Chain of Office and handed over the proceedings.

Kath started her year by thanking Jenni and on behalf of members presented her with a small gift.

The incoming committee of Jenni Hayne, Pat Norrie (treasurer), Tricia Hadley, Barbara Murphy, Di Smith and Elizabeth Spicer were introduced together with Maree Tann and Mira Adhikara (secretary) who were unable to attend.

Inner Wheel is a Women’s organisation which meets monthly.

The Objects of Inner Wheel are: To promote true friendship; To encourage the ideals of personal service; To foster international understanding.

With this in mind, this year promises to be an exciting one for Narrabri with a cord blood morning tea to support research and a fashion parade in September for our district project that will be launched in August. Watch this space!

Other changes to come in this year will be the move to lunch time meetings on the first Tuesday of the month with meeting venues to change each month so as to broaden members’ knowledge of the area and its people.

Any woman who thinks she would like to belong to this happy group please contact one of the above named committee members for more information.
