Wee Waa Bowling Club hosted Zone Three Bowls sectional matches on the weekend for State Open, Senior and President Reserve Singles.

Three Wee Waa bowlers were victorious and will now compete at the zone finals at the Inverell Sporties on Saturday and Sunday, August 15 and 16.

Justin Knight won Open Singles, Steve Berger won Senior Singles and Dustyn Allen won President Reserve Singles on their home green.

In the Open Singles just one match was played which was the sectional final between Knight and Narrabri’s Cameron Yates.

Knight won that contest 31-19 to qualify for the zone finals.

In the Senior Singles Berger beat Collarenebri’s John Henderson 31-9 in the morning game on Saturday to progress to the final four.

On Saturday afternoon Berger beat Wee Waa’s Clancy Hamilton 34-9 to progress to an all-Wee Waa final against Phil Lawford who downed fellow Wee Waa bowler Peter Hennessy 31-20 in the other semi-final.

That final was played on Sunday morning which saw Berger score a 31-22 victory to advance to Inverell.

In the President Reserve Singles Allen beat Wee Waa bowler Sean Anderson 31-20 in a Saturday morning game.

That saw Allen advance to an all-Wee Waa final against Brett Pillar on Saturday afternoon which Allen won 31-22 to qualify for the zone finals.
