It was a day to remember for Narrabri and District Junior Rugby League on Saturday as rugby league finally kicked off again in Narrabri.

Narrabri’s under-13s, under-15s and under-16s teams were all in action at Collins Park in their respective round two matches and all three were victorious.

The 13s Blues made it two from two as they defeated Kootingal 28-4, and the 15s also made it two from two with a 32-16 win against Gunnedah.

The 15s’ win was even more impressive considering that they played with 11 against 12 Gunnedah players for most of the contest, but the home side dug deep for one another to come away with the result.

Meanwhile the 16s Blues scored their first win of the season when they downed Kootingal 40-12.

In the 13s game Nate Browning crossed for a hat-trick of tries. He has now scored eight tries in the side’s first two matches.

The team’s other two tries in round two were scored by David Biles and Lincoln Browning.

Declan Rooney kicked three conversions to add six extra points and Jack Anderson converted once.

In the under-15s game Ashton Smith bagged two tries while Jamarl Zarka, Tim Shields, Brock Mallows and Zack Mallows all went over once each.

Jamarl Zarka kicked well to finish with two conversions and Ashton Smith and Jaylan Sharpley slotted one conversion each.

The Narrabri 16s’ tries were shared between Brodie Willock, Jesse Druce, Gus Smith, Daniel McMillan, Malik Dennis, Cameron Worrell and Jamarl Zarka.

Zac Doring kicked well to finish with six conversions.
