Wee Waa Bowling Club hosted the final rounds of its 2020 season A-grade Singles and A-grade Pairs campaigns at the weekend as deserving champions were crowned in both competitions.
The A-grade Singles champion for 2020 is Justin Knight and the A-grade Pairs champions are Ty Baker and Ben Russell.
On Saturday morning Baker and Russell took on Peter and Dustyn Allen in the A-Grade Pairs semi-final and scored a 27-9 victory to progress to the afternoon’s decider against Ross Smith and Phil Lawford who had already qualified for the decider.
Baker and Russell trailed 11-10 at one stage in that contest but dominated the latter stages of the game to secure a 20-11 championship victory.
On Sunday morning the two A-grade Singles semi-finals were played in cold and wet conditions.
In those two games Stephen Berger edged out Peter Doring 32-29, and Justin Knight downed Brett Pillar 31-14 to both advance to the final.
In the decider later that afternoon Knight prevailed 31-17 against Berger in a battle of two of the club’s three State Singles representatives.
In the other match played at the weekend Trevor Keys beat Charlie Thompson 31-14 in a B-grade Singles match.
