Wee Waa High School’s Student Representative Council yesterday launched a recycling program that will see drink containers deposited into designated bins located around the school campus.

Funded by the WWHS P and C with matched funding from the Narrabri Shire Council’s Community Grants Program, the new initiative will see the SRC regularly collecting, bagging and recycling the containers via the Return and Earn system.

The program encourages students’ consciousness of the environment and the impact of how we dispose of rubbish.

Funds raised from recycling will enable the SRC to purchase items that enhance the school campus for the benefit of students.

The SRC is encouraging the community to support the school’s recycling and fundraising initiative by donating bagged drink containers to the school. Collection can be arranged by calling the school’s front office.

The students wrote and produced this impressive news clip to coincide with the launch of the recycling program.
