SIAHTO is calling for nominations for its annual Woman of the Year Award.

The group first presented Woman of the Year in 1982 and has awarded the honour every year since.

Last year, Helen Dugdale received the accolade for her passionate advocacy for young people and education.

While COVID has presented challenges to many community groups, vice president Kim Owens said the awards were an important part of the club and SIAHTO was determined to keep the tradition going.

“As for everyone, 2020 has been a very different year for our club but we are determined to continue our tradition of honouring a lady who goes above and beyond for their family and our community,” she said.

“We are just not sure at this time what shape the presentation will take.”

A nominee for the award must be a resident of Narrabri Shire and be dedicated and committed to her family and the community.

If you know someone who deserves recognition, please call into Loder’s Computers or call Kim Owens on 0437 938 304 for a nomination form.
Nominations close on Tuesday, October 27.
