The train is not only coming, it is already here for some. Member for Parkes Mark Coulton and deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack recently drove the ‘golden spike’ into the line to complete the Narromine to Parkes section of the Inland Rail and trains have already run along the section and will be carting grain this harvest to Port Kembla from districts like Nyngan and Trangie. By Christmas the activity will move to North Star, working back towards Moree. Work will be undertaken so the expected big harvest won’t be disrupted.
