Narrabri Women’s Bowling Club’s Senior Fours team are the Region 3 Senior Fours champions after they defeated the Central Northern District team from Tamworth at Lightning Ridge last Friday.
The team of Helen Woodward, Dawn Armstrong, Val Falkiner and Eva Sadler (sub Lyn Tuckey) led from the second end and won 12 of the 17 ends played to win the game 23 points to 12.
They will now travel to Malua to play in the state playoffs on February 9 and 10, 2021.
Social bowls was played in Narrabri on Thursday. Caroline Tomlinson, Marie Redman and Rhonda Welchman defeated Pat Sheils, Jan Etheridge and Sue Solomon 18-11. Gloria Campey, Cecile and Di Chessels defeated Olwyn Campey, Janet Coleman and Kay Carolan 22-20. In three bowls pairs, Glennis Godden and Berice Eather defeated Leslie Anderson and Lyn Tuckey 18-12.
This Thursday is the last social day of ladies’ bowls for the year. A trophy day will be held.
On Saturday morning, the final of ladies Club Fours will be contested at 9.30am. In that game the team of Denise Wall, Ronnie Dewar, Debbie Gleeson and Lorraine Scott will challenge the team of Pat Sheils, Jan Etheridge, Lyn Tuckey and Beryl Regan.
