Narrabri District Cricket Association’s scheduled round two first and second grade one day matches scheduled were all washed out on Saturday afternoon as a result of the recent rain.

In first grade, Civeo was scheduled to take on Western Razorbacks at Collins Park, while Tatts and RSL were set to meet at Hogan Oval.

In second grade, RSL and Civeo were scheduled to play at Leitch Oval, while Tourist Hotel and Western razorbacks were set to meet at Dangar Park, Wee Waa.

Just before 10am on Saturday morning, the NDCA board of management announced that overnight rain had rendered the pitches too wet for final preparations and made them unfit for play. All four games were declared washout draws.

The 2020-21 NDCA season will resume this Saturday with four matches.

In first grade, Civeo and RSL will play at Collins Park, while Tatts and Western Razorbacks meet in the grand final rematch at Hogan Oval.

In second grade, Tatts and Tourist Hotel will play against one another at Leitch Oval, while RSL challenges the Western Razorbacks at Gately Field.

Junior cricket was also affected by the rain across the weekend.

The second round of the Narrabri District Junior Cricket Association season was also cancelled on Saturday before all four representative matches Narrabri was scheduled to compete in on Sunday were also cancelled.

On Saturday, the girls’ cricket competition was scheduled to begin.

The cancellation of the day’s play saw round one pushed back a week, with the NDJCA announcing on Saturday that it would still run as a four-week competition.

All Central North Cricket junior representative matches were then cancelled on Sunday.

Narrabri’s under-11s side was scheduled to take on Moree in Narrabri in round one, while the Namoi under-17s team’s round two match was also set to be contested in Narrabri.

The under-13s team’s round one clash against Coalfields was scheduled to be played in Scone, and the under-15s side’s round one clash was set to be played in Tamworth against Maitland Gold.
