It is coming up for half a century since the big flood of 1971. Next year sees the 50th anniversary of the ‘71 flood which devastated the shire and north west NSW. Meanwhile, we are evidently entering a La Nina period with anticipated wet weather ahead – hopefully rain at the right time, after harvest is finished, and certainly not a deluge like that of ‘71.
