Round four of Narrabri Touch Inc’s 2020-21 summer season was contested at the Cooma Oval Fields on Monday evening where four teams continued their undefeated runs in their respective competitions.

Grumley Builders remained the only unbeaten team in the men’s competition, while Agies Ladies, Specialised Civil and Xtra all stretched their winning streaks to four games in the current ladies’ campaign.

Grumley Builders took on Damien Chiplin Plumbing on Monday and won six tries to three. In the other men’s matches, Win or Booze outscored Mowley’s Maniacs 13-2, Ballbusters downed Stylies 16-6, Platform X Studio defeated Cougars 10-5, and Gee Bangers beat DTA Lumberjacks 9-5.

In the ladies’ competition, Agies Ladies outscored OneDay Gals 16-0, Xtra downed RSL Roulettes 8-2, Specialised Civil beat Redbacks 7-2, Hounddogs defeated The Emasculators 6-0, Phoenix Two390 beat The Rippers 10-0, and Blue Birds edged out BPR Tourist Hotel 4-2 .

Grumley Builders entered the fourth round of the season as the only unbeaten men’s team and its 6-3 victory kept that unbeaten run alive. Jydon Hill and Jordyn Mowle both bagged doubles for the top-ranked side, while teammates Jacob Booby and Hamish Duncan chipped in with one each. Two of Damien Chiplin Plumbing’s tries were scored by Toby Bentley and the other was claimed by Jakeb Nipperess.

Platform X Studio won its third straight game with a 10-5 round four victory against Cougars. Alistair Hillard crossed for five tries for Platform X Studios, Gus Macrae scored a hat-trick and Jacob Nichols and Isaiah Cochrane went over once each. Cougars duo Kurt Wallace and Chris Clark both bagged doubles and the side’s other try was scored by Jaylan Sharpley.

Gee Bangers’ round four win against DTA Lumberjacks saw it finish the round as the only other men’s team to start the season with three wins and a loss. It bounced back from its two-point round three defeat at the hands of Grumley Builders to down DTA Lumberjacks 9-5 on Monday. Jason Yeeles went over for four tries for Gee Bangers, Damon Gleeson bagged a double and the other three tries were shared evenly between Nathan Nott, Jake Rumsby and James Thomas. DTA Lumberjacks’ Clayton Pursche scored two of his team’s tries while teammates Dylan Armitage, Todd Farrer and Chase Magner all chipped in with a try each.

Win or Booze won its second straight game with a 13-2 round four victory against the winless Mowley’s Maniacs to continue its resurgence following two losses to start the season. bLachlan Trindall (five tries) and Harry Pattison (four tries) combined to cross nine times for Win or Booze, Cooper Brayshaw bagged a double and Travis Heffernan and Connor Hill went over once each. Mowley’s Maniacs’ two tries were shared between Pat Mowle and Matt Walters.

In the other men’s game, Ballbusters put three straight losses to start the season in the rear view mirror when it scored its first victory of the four-week-old season. Connor Parkes scored a hat-trick in his side’s 10-6 win, teammates Toby Knight and Jimmy Ward bagged doubles and Ken Nolan, Colin Parkes and Richard Whan all crossed once. Stylies’ Danny Laws scored two tries for his team and the remaining four tries were shared between Taylor Gordon, Scott Rickard, Jeremy Saunders and Aaron Stoltenberg.

In one of the first ladies’ games played on Monday evening, Agies Ladies scored a 16-0 win against OneDay Gals to stretch its 2020-21 season win streak to four games and its overall unbeaten run, which dates back to 2018, to 31 games. Martha Harvey and Alisha Conomos continued their brilliant tryscoring form as they evenly shared eight of their team’s tries. Teammate Matilda Currey scored a hat-trick, Bella Cruickshank bagged a double and Cathy Conomos, Teagan Conomos and Krista Zarka all crossed once each.

In another ladies’ match, Specialised Civil continued its unbeaten start to the season while handing Redbacks its first defeat in four games.
Specialised Civil’s Gerri Cruckshank, Abby McClure and Natalia Smith all went over twice in their team’s 7-2 win, and teammate Katrina Duncan scored the other try. Redbacks duo Zoe Campbell and Tianne Parker claimed their team’s two tries.

The third ladies’ team to continue its unbeaten run with a round four win was Xtra which downed RSL Roulettes 8-2. Rosie Maunder scored a hat-trick in her team’s win, teammates Emma Cain and Ellen John both bagged doubles and Jess Craig scored the other try. RSL Roulettes’ tries were scored by Emma Young and Donna McKinstry.

Blue Birds returned to winning ways following a round three loss against Redbacks, with its third win of the season on Monday. It downed BPR-Tourist 4-2. All six of those tries were scored by six different tryscorers. Blue Birds’ Taylah Fogarty, Lidia McCauley, Clariese Ryman and Anni Wenner crossed for their team, and BPR Tourist Hotel’s Tanya Nolan and Fiona Redfern scored for their team.

Hounddogs scored its second win of the season with a 6-0 victory against The Emasculators. Vanessa Smallwood bagged a double for Hounddogs, while teammates Carly Baxter, Caitlyn Dewar, Megan O’Brien and Ashleigh Rose went over once.

In the other round four match, Phoenix Two390 kept its opponent scoreless for the second time in four games when it defeated The Rippers 10-0.
Miranda Hamilton scored a hat-trick for Phoenix Two390, Holly and Elsie Ford bagged doubles and Alex Bennett, Meika Foley and Cassidy Staines chipped in with a try each.
