Remembrance Day 2020 was observed in Narrabri today with a smaller attendance due to COVID-19 restrictions.

The ceremony this year was not publicised or promoted in the usual way because of health protocols around public gatherings, but the solemnity of the occasion was no less.

A small audience participated in the service led by Narrabri RSL sub branch president Gary Mason who thanked the RSL Club and community for ongoing support of the sub branch and its work.

This support was given its most visible manifestation in the fundraising and construction of the Narrabri War Memorial in the RSL Club grounds, Mr Mason said.

The Memorial was a tribute to the community’s commitment to remembrance.
