The winners of The Courier and Wee Waa News ‘Keep It Simple – Shop Locally’ Christmas Promotion will be drawn on Thursday at 7.30.

The draw will be held at the Narrabri Chamber of Commerce Christmas tree on the Narrabri Post Office lawns.

Attendance at the draw is limited due to COVID regulations and participating business operators have been invited. This year 30 local businesses have joined in the promotion. The $7000 worth of prizes will be in the form of shopping vouchers to be spent at participating stores and in cash for businesses which sell winning tickets. The prize draw will be live streamed on The Courier’s Facebook page.

If it is raining, the prize draw will take place in The Courier printery, to which the proprietors of participating businesses and their staff are invited.

This year there has been an unprecedented number of entries from local shoppers.

The draw will be overseen by The Courier manager Wanda Dunnet and scrutineer Narrabri Chamber of Commerce president Russell Stewart and drawn by Santa Claus.

Prize winners will be individually notified as will the businesses which sold the winning tickets.

The business which sells the winning ticket receives $1000 cash, the business which sells the second prize winning ticket wins $500 and the third prize winning ticket seller receives $250 cash.

This year there is a spirit of optimism abroad as the district recovers from the drought and economic prospects brighten with new developments on the horizon.

Retailers are inviting residents to shop locally and support our local community.
