Narrabri Shire Council has reminded residents that work on the Maitand street reconstruction will resume on January 4. This will see the replacement of the road pavement on the west side of Maitland Street from Lloyd Street to Dewhurst Street, the opposite side to what has already been done. The council advises that pedestrian access to all shop fronts will be maintained. Manned pedestrian crossings will be provided at the locations of the existing pedestrian crossings near roundabouts to allow pedestrians to cross the road works area. One side of the road will be closed at a time while maintaining one-way traffic along Maitland Street in the affected area.
