The local market took a tumble yesterday and fell more than one per cent for the second time in three days. Over the holiday period lower interest and volumes can lead to interesting price moves. We will lighten the portfolio and sell a few stocks today as we prepare for a fresh start to a new portfolio in 2021.

Looking at some of the seasonal themes for this time of year we will hold on to both the gold stocks and the NDQ ETF. The fund manager Hearts and Minds will remain for the coming year along with CSL and we will retain Baby Bunting, Whitehaven Coal, Nickel Mines, Webjet and Resimac for now with their appropriate stops in place in addition to reduced position sizes for the new year and sell off the rest.

Resimac shows a possible bullish flag forming.
Webjet shows a retracement similar to a lot of travel stocks.
Whitehaven Coal has broken the downtrend line and a zone of resistance.
The Nasdaq ETF looks to be at an interesting point, will it finally move up or break the trend line? Watching.
CSL has been stuck going sideways for a while.
