The North West’s favourite foodie festival is set to make a return in 2021, with the Nosh annual general meeting taking place last week to discuss plans for this year’s event.

With the pandemic continuing to impact on large-scale gatherings, the team has made the decision to cancel the regular market day.

However, the Nosh group say they are determined to keep the “foodie experience alive” in 2021.

In the lead-up to Wednesday’s meeting Nosh shared an open invitation via social media, encouraging “some fresh new faces” to attend the meeting.

Outgoing committee president, Darrell Tiemens, believes the team will benefit from more outsider perspectives.

In his president’s report, he said he was keen to see what ideas the new committee would come up with.

“Nosh has a proud history of community support, and it’s thanks to dedicated committee members that we are able to continue running such fun events,” he said.

“As I look around today, I see plenty of young fresh faces who I believe will continue to work hard to deliver a fantastic food and wine festival.”

Mr Tiemens said the former committee members will be waiting in the wings to support the newer members, should they need it, but is excited to welcome the “new blood”.

A new committee was voted in for 2021.

Penny Jobling was elected president, to be assisted by co-vice presidents Abby McClure and Nicki O’Neill. Emma John will take on the role of secretary, with Amy Withington committing to the treasurer’s role.

A member of the Nosh team since the event’s inception, Ms Jobling says she’s excited to work with the newer members on this year’s surprise dining event.

“I’m absolutely delighted to see such enthusiasm from these new volunteers, especially since we haven’t always had so many people offering their time to help out in the past – it’s a big job, but many hands make light work,” she said.

“With such a diverse team, each member bringing their own unique skills to the table, I’m very excited to see what creative solutions we can come up with together.”

The team is looking forward to the 2021 Nosh.

More information will be made available in April.
