New Narrabri business Alfabs has thrown its support behind a fundraising campaign for Narrabri’s Brett Nolan who was severely injured in a building accident in 2020.

Alfabs is planning a grand opening event to launch its new Cooma Road premises on Saturday, March 27 – and the occasion will be a fundraiser for Brett as well.

“Our grand opening to launch the Narrabri premises will also see a big family fun day fundraiser for Brett,” said Alfabs operations manager Nathan Adams.

All funds raised will go towards support for Brett Nolan.

“We will have something for the whole family,” said Mr Adams.

This will include a jumping castle for the kids, barbecue, lucky door prizes, show bags, merchandise, giveaways, demonstrations from RFS volunteers and more.

“Narrabri Rotary will be catering with a barbecue selling sausage and steak sandwiches, there will be a popcorn machine and a caterpillar slide for the kids.

“Host of the TV fishing show ‘Reel Action’, Michael Guest, will be there to meet fishers and fans and popular vocalist-guitarist Sarah Leete will perform for the grand opening audience.

“Fundraising for Brett will include the opportunity to win a fully catered day of food and drinks while cruising the beautiful Lake Macquarie”.

Alfabs is funding all the food, and money raised will all go to the Brett Nolan appeal.

“Rotary has a fund raising target of $15,000 for Brett,” said Narrabri Rotary president Grahame Herbert.

“Each year philanthropist Dick Smith provides matching community funding and clubs are able to apply for a grant. We aim to achieve our $15,000 target which will be matched by Dick Smith.”

While the event will be a fantastic fundraiser for Brett Nolan, it is the launch of the new Alfabs premises.

Alfabs will have a range of their impressive hire equipment on display including B double, scissor lifts knuckle boom, Hiab truck and more, which will introduce residents to some of the huge range of equipment in the Alfabs inventory.

The Alfabs Group has a fleet of more than 500 pieces of hire equipment.

“Alfabs already has a long association with the Narrabri shire as a supplier to the mining industry since Narrabri Coal began operations 13 years ago, and with Narrabri Shire Council,” said Mr Adams.

“Alfabs has been closely involved in supporting community organisations, including sponsorship of the Narrabri Blues and local events.

“Our Narrabri branch will support our existing clients and expand our offer to local businesses and industries,” Mr Adams said.
