Thumbs down to the doomsayers trying to shut down our coal mining industry, the industry which is keeping many people employed and businesses operating in our region. Yes, we may all one day move to renewable energy – but that will take many years. Meanwhille, no-one says a word about China, which is busily trying to disrupt our economy. China is now responsible for more than half – 53 per cent – of the whole world’s coal fired electricity and it is building more coal-fired power stations every year.
