The new Maitland Street looks great, but there seems to have been long periods of no apparent activity on the rebuilding work. Every day the street is closed it costs businesses money – a lot of money – which they will never get back. It’s not a matter of just having to walk an inconvenient few extra hundred yards – people just choose not to shop. I have seen plenty of other roadworks done under lights at night – maybe that would have speed things up here.

Thumbs down – the pigeons on the rooftop of a building in the middle block of the CBD are creating a huge mess. Their feathers are a nuisance as they blow into nearby businesses. FacebookTweetEmail
