Other suggestions have been put forward – originally ‘Panton Pathway’ was proposed by a reader in recognition of the late Ross Panton’s voluntary work on the riverside, and latterly and unsuccessfully, ‘Anderson Pathway’, an acknowledgement of the late, long serving Narrabri GP Dr Bob Anderson. However, council policy is not to name community assets after individuals. The riverside walkway remains a work in progress and when its final stage is completed there will hopefully be opportunities for naming suggestions.
