The Westpac Rescue Helicopter was tasked by New South Wales Ambulance at 11pm last night, Thursday April 29, to reports of a serious single vehicle motor vehicle accident.

A car collided with a tree and the driver was seriously injured, trapped in the wreckage at Rowena.

This has been a multi-agency response with numerous emergency and rescue services attending the scene.

NSW Ambulance paramedics and the helicopter critical care medical team have treated the 18-year-old male driver for suspected multiple injuries after he was released by emergency services.

He was then airlifted direct to Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital in a stable condition for further medical treatment.
