Winners are grinners: Wee Waa shopper wins $10,000

A mystery Wee Waa shopper is $10,000 richer after scratching a top prize on an Instant Scratch-Its ticket.

The winning $1 ticket was purchased at the Wee Waa newsagency.

Exactly how the lucky shopper plans to enjoy their new fortune will remain a secret because they have chosen to remain anonymous and celebrate their win privately.
 
Wee Waa newsagency proprietor Roxanne Whitton said it was exciting news for the community and proof that dreams really do come true.

“This is the first top prize-winning ticket we’ve sold,” said Mrs Whitton.

“We are so happy for the winner and so excited to see this prize won locally.

“It’s great news for us and the town.

“Congratulations to our winner, we hope this is the first of many for our community.”

Instant Scratch-Its spokesperson Lauren Cooney said she was sure the state’s latest winner would enjoy every moment of their windfall.

“We have no doubt this Wee Waa player will love every moment of planning what to do with their win,” she said.
