The mouse plague is destroying more than planted crops, stored grain, electrical wiring and anything else they can chew on, they are also indirectly wreaking havoc on native wildllife. A reader reports that the bodies of magpies – ‘as many as 30’ – are a testament to the birds eating dead, poisoned mice. There are many reports of cats and dogs suffering from the effects of poisoned mice.
