Narrabri Shire Council has invested in its current and emerging leaders.

Twenty-five staff will have the opportunity to complete a Certificate IV in Leadership and Management at TAFE NSW this year.

General manager Stewart Todd said the council was pleased to be working with TAFE NSW as the council supported its staff in gaining additional skills in leadership and management.

“Council is committed to the development of its workforce and provides learning opportunities to ensure staff succeed in their roles,” Mr Todd said.

TAFE NSW Teacher of Business Services Lynne Sheather said the delivery of the Certificate IV in Leadership and Management has been tailored by TAFE NSW to meet the needs of Narrabri Shire Council.

“Students are learning by attending face-to-face classes once per month, where they have the opportunity to mix with other council staff members from a full range of services,” Ms Sheather said.

“The course will allow the students to develop their skills in emotional intelligence, operational planning and innovation and managing priorities.”
