Narrabri Shire Council has agreed to accept the offer from National Australia Bank to transfer the Rose Street premises to the shire.

The bank branch closed this year.

Wee Waa Chamber of Commerce has been actively seeking replacement bank services for the town but none have been forthcoming.

However, the NAB indicated that it was prepared to ‘gift’ the building to the Narrabri shire.

The council agreed to accept the offer, subject to a satisfactory building inspection.

Wee Waa Chamber of Commerce has expressed its interest in ensuring that a suitable community oriented use for the building is found.
