The September 4 local government elections are looming and no doubt potential candidates are gearing up for their bid. The elections were to have been held in September last year, of course, but COVID forced a 12 month postponement. “Is there likely to be another 12 month postponement as the pandemic again rears its ugly head?” a reader enquires. Perhaps with the rigorous lockdowns the current crisis may have subsided enough for the poll to go ahead.
