A reader reckons she might be soon thanking the QR code, not for COVID contact tracing, but for verifying her hoped-for lottery win. “I bought a lottery ticket in Newcastle yesterday and lost it somewhere,” she said. “I went back to the newsagent and notified them that if their shop was the seller of the winning ticket it might be me and I can prove I was there at a specific time because I had scanned the QR code.” Good luck!
