Recent NAIDOC Week celebrations at Wee Waa High School commenced with students and staff coming together and listening to opening addresses by school captain Jason Lee, Year 10 student Lataya Gordon and Aboriginal education officer Helen Wenner.

The NAIDOC theme for 2021, ‘Heal Country, Heal Our Nation’ along with local Aboriginal culture and history perspectives were incorporated into classroom activities throughout the week.

And the WWHS sports day saw students take part in a fun array of Aboriginal sports and games.

The school’s tradition of an all of school barbecue and cakes were also thoroughly enjoyed by everyone as part of the NAIDOC Week celebrations.
