Just when you may have thought the Global National Stupidity Prize for 2021 was still wide open, how about this gem from the US!? The Washington Post reported that a company which makes custom modifications to firearms had released a ‘fun new product’ – a lethal Glock handgun cleverly encased in red, yellow and blue Lego-look-alike blocks and styled the BLOCK19. The company’s advertising insisted that ‘the sporting shooting sports are SUPER FUN!’ The new ‘fun’ weapon was designed as a poke-in-the-eye to the anti-gun folks. The company blurb goes on…”Here’s the thing. Guns are fun. Shooting is fun. 30 rounds full auto is fun.” Needless to say the ‘fun’ gun has generated a certain degree of disquiet among some ‘unfun’ citizens, such as those who have lost children who have gotten their hands on Dad’s real gun. But, now, a real gun that looks like a toy! Wow!! Oh, the Lego company has somehow learned about this quirky toy….and is not amused.
